Overview
Position Summary:
Fully competent in one or more scientific/technical areas. Plans and conducts scientific as signments requiring mastery of specialized techniques.

Key Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
- Applies scientific method and experimental design in problem solving. Uses scientific expertise to provide solutions to a broad range of difficult Solutions are original thorough and practical. Consistently communicates progress status to supervisor.
- Performs complicated or demanding assignments requiring specialized May offer solutions that are creative and/or inventive.
- Defines short and mid-term objectives and implements plan to accomplish objectives.
- May direct the work of other personnel.
- Maintains accurate precise and legible laboratory notebooks. Frequently communicates status updates across the Maintains good documentation. Writes reports and technical summaries. May represent the company to outside organizations.
- Continually broadens professional expertise through comprehensive knowledge of scien tific literature and competitive products.
- Handles broad assignments and objectives under minimal supervision. Accomplishes objectives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Networking/Key Relationships:
- Responsible for cross-functional collaboration for technical solutions related to released (on-market) product support primarily as well as working with R&D during new product development with a focus on manufacturability and transfer into manufacturing. Frequent inter-organizational and outside. May represent the company to outside organizations on technical issues.
The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $110000 to $130000. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education relevant experience skillset knowledge and specific needs of the business.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
Education:
- Knowledge acquired through a Bachelors Masters Degree or Ph.D. Degree
Experience:
- Bachelors plus 7 years of relevant experience or
- Masters plus 5 years of relevant experience or
- Ph.D. degree plus 0 - 1 year of experience
Hematology experience required including expertise in blood analysis techniques interpretation of hematologic data and familiarity with relevant laboratory methodologies.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Technical leadership problem solving skills effective time management team manage ment effective in building cross-functional relationships and effective communication.
- Duties require broad use and application of scientific principles theories and concepts in field of expertise.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties and responsibilities higher than Scientist III level.
Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 10% of time
