Join the power movement as a Contract Mechanical Engineer - Radiological Tooling
The Contract Mechanical Engineer Radiological Tooling will design a variety of mechanical subsystems and tools for executing and supporting operations in radiologically activated environments. This role will collaborate heavily in designing testing and validating new systems.
What youll do:
- Generate simple clever designs for complicated challenging mechanical problems
- Quickly analyze (hand calcs free body diagrams FEA motion analysis) proposed design solutions
- Execute test campaigns to validate and deliver new machine systems
- Support multiple systems in a high-pressure heavily interfaced program
- Maintain high speed and output over the duration of the contract
- Contribute to maintaining organization and clarity of project documentation among a small team
- Maintain a high daily/weekly level of communication and tight collaboration on related designs
What were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering aerospace engineering mechatronics or another relevant field
- 2 years of experience or related lab/field research designing structural and mechanism components in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience delivering high output on month timescales on challenging assignments
- Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical disciplines such as static structures dynamics/vibration or heat transfer
- Relevant hands-on experience building and troubleshooting mechanical systems and machines
- Be self-motivated committed to self-growth and exhibit excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organization communication and presentation skills
Must-have requirements:
- Perform activities such as typing or sitting for extended periods of time
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat cold noise fumes strong magnets lead (Pb) high voltage high current pressure systems and cryogenics
$50 - $62 an hour
This is a contract position.
