About the Role:
The Mail Clerk Assistant position is responsible for providing on-site Mail Operations and other administrative and facilities support for all offices in a regional federal government site. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with mail receipt processing scanning electronic distribution and physical dispatch for all offices at a federal government site.
- Ensure all mail is handled securely and in compliance with established security protocols.
- Organize all mail carts and tubs used to pick up and deliver mail to ensure the orderly flow of mail received and delivered during a mail run.
- Operate mail processing equipment (postage meters scanners shipping systems) and maintain accurate logs records and tracking documentation.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding mail status issues or delays to support the efficiency of daily operations.
Requirements
- Citizenship and Background: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a public trust clearance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in administrative support functions
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to bend stoop and lift up to 70 pounds overhead or onto moving equipment.
- Demonstrated accurate data entry and reporting skills and exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (Word Excel Outlook).
