The Employee Health Nurse

• Performs evaluations of employees with illnesses or injuries occurring on the job adhering to established protocols for treatment and physician referrals.

• Works with advisory staff in making referrals for employee health and work status evaluations where needed.

• Provides preventative service and education to employees based on established. Employee Health/Infection Control policies in compliance with OSHA CDC and Workers Compensation guidelines.

• Reviews departmental policies and procedures periodically to remain competent in current and recommended standards.

• Provides health education to prospective and current employees on an as-needed basis.

• Enhances professional development through participation in in-services and continuing educational programs.

• Completes pre-placement and annual health assessments per departmental policy.

• Assist ill or injured employees per departmental protocols. Functions in a supportive role to meet the fluctuating needs of Employee Health Services.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing BS degree required or plan in place.

Experience: Minimum of two years professional nursing experience involving interviewing and health assessment skills. Occupational health or employee health background preferred.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: State of Virginia registered nursing license required.
