Job Description

As a valued contributor to our team you will consult with team members and management to provide core legal counsel and services to the business as well as utilize your legal training and experience to guide the Companys this role you will document and enforce its legal rights and minimize its legal risks. You will have shared responsibilities for providing legal services to the Company in an area of law or legal risk such as litigation or credit loss management.

TheRegulatory Associate General Counsel - Principal role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert legal advice on federal andstateconsumer regulatory and deregulatory matters.

  • Monitor and interpret legislative regulatory and deregulatory developmentsimpactingconsumer law.

  • Draft review and negotiate contractscomment lettersdisclosures and other legal documents.

  • Represent Fannie Mae in engagements with lenders vendors and government agencies.

  • Support integration of Artificial Intelligence into legal operations and business processes.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 8 years of experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and licensedin any state

  • Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar

  • Expertiseinconsumerlaw including TILA RESPAFCRAand ECOA

  • Demonstrated experience engaging with federal regulatory agencies

Desired Experiences

  • Masters degree orequivalent

  • Prior experience at a regulator mortgage lender or otherfinancial institution

  • Deep knowledge of housing finance and housing programs

  • Strong business acumen and excellent regulatory analytical skillsspecific to the mortgage industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate issues andcommunicate clearly witha variety ofstakeholders

Target Salary Range: $200000 - $269000 a year

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and other relevant qualifications.
