POSITION SUMMARY:

The El Paso Refinery has an opening for a Process Controls Specialist. This position will report directly to the Process Control Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs implements and maintains process control strategies to optimize unit performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoots and resolves control system issues including hardware software and network components.
• Collaborates with operations engineering and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges. Develops and maintains relationships with console operators.
• Maintains and optimizesHoneywell Experion PKS and TDC 3000 DCS platforms including configuration troubleshooting and system upgrades to support safe and efficient refinery operations.
• Maintain and support Triconex SIS and Rockwell Automation PLCs including logic modifications and testing.
• Develops and maintains control narratives logic diagrams and system documentation.
• Manages controls-related projects including scope development vendor coordination and commissioning.
• Develop modify and maintain operator graphics and HMIs for DCS SIS PLC and SCADA systems in accordance with refinery standards
• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial networks.
• Provides on-call and outage/turnaround support for control systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree in Electrical or Instrument Technology or High School Diploma or GED with five (5) years relevant experience required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
• Two (2) years or more of experience with industrial control systems required.
• A valid Drivers License is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in Honeywell Experion and TDC3000.
• Previous Refining Process Controls experience.
