IMEG is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in civil land development to join our team in Northern Virginia locations (Fairfax Manassas Leesburg Warrenton). As a key leader you will drive the design and analysis of complex land development projects mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for site planning grading utilities and permitting for public and private sector projects. You will work closely with clients and project teams to ensure technical excellence regulatory compliance and successful project outcomes. Principal Responsibilities
Lead the design and analysis of civil land development projects using Autodesk Civil 3D and related software ensuring compliance with codes and IMEG standards.
Train and mentor team members in civil engineering software for modeling traffic analysis pipe networks and related tasks.
Oversee civil site design providing advanced technical guidance to project teams.
Engage with clients to gather requirements communicate technical information and build lasting relationships.
Conduct in-process design reviews implement IMEG quality control processes and ensure deliverables meet client and industry standards.
Provide technical training mentoring and field issue resolution with limited senior staff support.
Stay current with industry trends technologies and best practices; contribute to research and innovation within IMEG.
Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all engineering activities.
Collaborate with engineers architects and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
Motivate and develop staff through training and mentorship.
Participate in project interviews and presentations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
7 years of experience minimum required 8 preferred in the building design consulting industry
Advanced proficiency in design techniques tools and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills for civil infrastructure.
Strong training mentoring and leadership skills
Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
