As a State & Local Tax (SALT) Vice President in our Income Tax Advisory team you will lead client engagements deliver comprehensive multistate tax solutions and play a key role in managing and developing our SALT professionals. You will manage multiple projects with competing priorities shape the client engagement experience and support the teams growth through client service excellence and leadership. This position offers exposure to a diverse client base and SALT matters opportunities to develop expertise in areas of your interest and pathways for internal career advancement.
Note: This position will be located in our Houston office.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Oversee and review multistate corporate and partnership income/franchise tax filings to ensure accurate and timely delivery of SALT compliance services.
Manage the delivery of state and local tax consulting services including nexus analyses state tax planning apportionment studies voluntary disclosure agreements and audit defense.
Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as a trusted advisor for complex state tax planning and consulting services.
Collaborate with firm leadership to pursue and secure new state and local tax opportunities.
Mentor and develop a team of senior associates associates and interns fostering professional growth and technical expertise within the SALT discipline.
Promote a collaborative work environment encouraging knowledge sharing and teamwork across practice areas.

Essential traits:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field. CPA JD or equivalent certification preferred.
4 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on state & local tax.
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving state tax issues.
Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Commitment to delivering high-quality service and building long-term client relationships.
