Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
GCP-Optimized Application Development:Cloud-Native Java: Design and implement cloud-native applications using Java (utilizing frameworks like Quarkus Micronaut or Spring Boot) that are optimized for fast startup and low memory footprint-critical for serverless environments
Service Integration: Integrate with GCP managed services: Cloud SQL Firestore (NoSQL) Pub/Sub (Messaging) and Cloud Deployment: Develop applications specifically for Cloud Run ensuring they are stateless and can scale to zero when not in use
Kubernetes & DevOps Integration:GKE Workloads: Maintain and support microservices running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). Understand the nuances of Workload Identity for secure service-to-service authentication
Build Automation: Write and maintain Dockerfiles and files to define build steps in Google Cloud Build.
Terraform Collaboration: Collaborate with platform engineers by defining required infrastructure resources (e.g. Pub/Sub topics Cloud SQL instances) via Terraform code reviews
Observability & Debugging:Operations Suite: Implement distributed tracing logging and debugging using Google Cloud Operations (formerly Stackdriver). Use these tools to trace latency issues across microservices
