Job Summary
Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Long Island City New York
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift: Day Shift 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $61.87/hr
Total Weekly Gross: $2320.13
Weekly Stipend: $1125
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in an acute care setting. This role supports radiologists by producing accurate images maintaining equipment and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following departmental protocols
Perform ultrasound procedures using appropriate techniques to obtain optimal diagnostic images
Operate adjust and maintain ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient and staff safety
Capture and transfer images to PACS and physicians workstations in a timely manner
Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of ultrasound equipment; perform minor adjustments as needed
Ensure adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies
Assist with orientation and mentoring of new ultrasound staff
Answer phone calls schedule examinations and coordinate patient transport as required
Adhere to all safety infection control and quality assurance standards
Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations
Required Qualifications
Certification as an Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS or equivalent)
Active state licensure as required
Prior experience in diagnostic ultrasound preferred
Proficiency with PACS and electronic imaging systems
