Position Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor I is responsible for the supervision of Inbound Operations (Unloading and Receiving) Warehouse Operations (Pick-Pack-Ship) Production (Tooling / Equipment) Outbound Operations (Loading and Shipping) and Freight Management (Carrier Relations). Responsible for ensuring prompt efficient and accurate handling of inventory as well as achieving operational goals within the plant.
Essential Functions:
- Executes and delivers upon a defined set of Best Business Practices for Warehouse Supervisor & Operations Manager roles . Manages warehouse personnel and leads warehouse operations (receiving inventory shipping returns) and production (tooling / equipment). It also ensures EH&S and Quality compliance oversees equipment maintenance and reports financial and operational metrics. Responsible for implementing Company initiatives at the local level.
- Manage with the intent to motivate train and develop employees. Provide coaching and timely constructive feedback to employees regarding progress of work and performance. Make well informed decisions demonstrate initiative use sound judgment exhibit autonomy and execute on organization initiatives.
- Evaluate current work procedures/processes to identify improvement opportunities and recommend ways to eliminate inefficiencies / waste that lead to improved operational performance including productivity accuracy quality and expenses. Investigate operational errors to determine the root cause and recommend corrective action where needed. Communicate product equipment and other order fulfillment issues to the Regional Warehouse Manager and identify/recommend changes to standard processes.
- Business Acumen & Interactions - Continue to expand skill set and demonstrate expertise in the area of technology and use of SAP in order to excel in core job functional areas. Gain an understanding of the interrelations in other areas of the business and how they connect with warehouse operations. Link that understanding to improve interactions with other departments and warehouse operations. Continue to expand communication presentation and influencing skills in order to engage other functional areas and build strong working relationships with other key areas of the business.
