Support at risk student achievement by building healthy relationships with the students and their parents/guardians. Indentifying student-specific barriers to student success stategize creative solutions to help students overcome these barriers and look for educational options for students in special circumstances. Intensive goal setting with daily check-ins and weekly monitoring. Connect students and parents/guardians with outside community agencies. Track student credits and monitor progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge Skills Abilities:Knowledge of computers and technology. Good reading writing and organization skills. Knowledge and understanding of benchmark standards per grade level(s) assigned. Knowledge of computers and technology. Ability to: (1) work independently with students individually and in small groups; (2) understand and take directions from supervising teacher(s); (3) adapt to a variety of classroom situations; (4) maintain a high level of confidentiality both in and out of the school setting; (5) operate office equipment. Flexible and willing to do a variety of jobs to meet deadlines and complete all required training. Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking students and adults preferred.
Experience:Experience working in a public school setting. Experience working with at-risk students with disabilities.
Education:Minimum of two years post-secondary study or an associates degree. Bachelors degree in social work or sociology preferred.
Certification Required:Medic First Aid Card. MANDT certified (or ability to complete).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work independently with students individually and in small groups;
- Assist families in accessing supports outside of the school;
- Collaborate with staff in identifying barriers and planning for removing or reducing those barriers for students and families in engagement into school;
- Support school team to understand specific student and family situations to support engagement into school;
- Meet with school care team regularly and supportthe District policies;
- Assistin establishing with community resources and advocate for students with Catalyst staff;
- Attend meetings including but not limited to IEP meeting evaluation planning meetings student staffing and student-specific collaborations meetings;
- Support and model competently collaborative problem solving in the school setting;
- Collaborate with local agencies such as mental health and law enforcement to address student and program needs;
- Relate to and effectively communicate with students who have significant behavioral and learning challenges school staff adminstration parents and community agencies;
- Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment;
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with students parents and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounts related to the job;
- Ability to work harmoniously with others;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Have the ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Write memos and correspondence in English. Effectely present informaiton in one-to-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Able to perform basic mathematical calcualtions with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrate Algebra and Geometry concepts to students in a small group setting.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers supervisor(s) staff students parents and community.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and may be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and frequently performs repetitive motions. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to10 pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time.
