TheHealtharea is led by Chief Scientific Officer Professor Flemming Konradsen and consists of approximately 60 dedicated colleagues placed in six different departments who are passionate about promoting and improving equity in the prevention andmanagementofCMDs infectious diseasesnutritionand other significant health outcomes.

The Job

Asthematernity cover for ascientific managerin Clinical Diabetesyou will report to the Vice President of Clinical Medicine and Diabetes Marie-Louise Hartoft-Nielsen.

Your responsibilities will be broad and varied. They will includedevelopinghigh impactstrategic diabetes pre-diabetes obesityand the interaction between diabetes will workon projects/initiativescoveringtheentirescientificvalue chainfrom addition youwillbe responsibleforengagingwith internal and externalstakeholdersensuringstrong execution of on-going strategic initiativesreviewingapplicationssubmittedthroughcompetitiveopen callsandengagingwith researchers andorganisationsnationally and globally.

Your main tasks will among others include:

  • Identifyand drive the developmentofhigh-qualityscientificinitiativeswithindiabetesand obesitybased on excellent scientific methodologies
  • Support the Vice President of Clinical Medicine and Diabetes on matters requiring medical and scientificexpertise
  • Prepare and present project pitches and presentation to leadershipto progress projects in our gate system
  • Collaboratewith functional areaswhen processing applications and initiatives
  • Engagewithinternal andexternal stakeholders on strategic initiatives

Professional and personal qualifications

We are looking for ascientific managerwith a PhDpreferably an MDwith 7years of experience from clinicalworkand is an advantage if you haveinsight intothescientificvalue chain from basic research to clinical translation and implementation. This might come from experiencefromindustry and/or public health research and development.

We imagine you have:

  • Healthscientificand clinicalbackground withexperienceindiabetes and cardiometabolicdiseases
  • Experience in clinical research methodologies including clinical trials cohort studies and translational medicine
  • Proven experience in project management
  • MedicalDegree is preferred(notrequired)
  • Experiencefroma philanthropic foundationandworkinginternationallyis an advantage

You are analytical and a strong communicator ofresearch results researchprojectsand research evaluations.

You must understandthe nature and culture of science and academiaincludingits ecosystem of stakeholders andknow howtoconvert this insight into impactful partnerships.

Youpossessexcellent English communication skills (both verbal and written) are skilledinstakeholder management and adept at navigating complex and dynamic environments.

While you are ambitiousandproactivewith a structured approach to problem solving you are alsowilling to take on tasks outside your remit where circumstances call for it.
