Within Growth we are shaping Barnet as a place to Live Work Study and Visit. Through Barnets Growth Strategy we are delivering the housing connectivity support for businesses and town centres and social infrastructure needed to sustain and improve local communities. Our Planning Housing Regeneration Economic Development and Estates services are a community of talented people solving the real-world problems and challenges that need to be addressed to deliver change and improve lives. We are delivering this all through many strategic partnerships that collectively form one of the largest development programmes in England.

About the role

This is a 12 month secondment opportunity into a pivotal leadership role operating across the Council and Barnet Homes influencing senior decision making and driving a diverse portfolio of complex high impact housing projects. making and driving a diverse portfolio of complex high impact housing projects
As Housing Programme Manager youll work in a matrix management environment collaborating closely with Strategic Directors Finance Housing colleagues and key partners. Youll ensure alignment across services support strategic planning and report directly to senior boards and governance groups on large scale transformation projects.

A major part of the role will involve:
Lead the delivery of the TA Reduction Plan through the matrix management of teams across the Council and Barnet Homes developing an integrated view of all activity under the plan and working to deliver the identified targets.

Providing forward looking insight to improve decision making
Support the establishment and embedding of a new housing commissioning function.
Ensuring robust governance and monitoring of performance in delivering housing outcomes.
Producing high quality highlight and programme wide reports for elected Members and senior stakeholders.


About you

We need someone who can bring:
Experience of working in a policy development and/or commissioning environment ideally in housing
Knowledge and understanding of housing legislation and the role of partnerships as they apply to housing
Exceptional programme/project management capability
Confidence advising senior leaders and political stakeholders
A strategic mindset with strong analytical and organisational skills
The ability to work across boundaries and build strong relationships
A desire to shape better outcomes for residents facing housing challenges
