Compensation Details:

  • New Graduate (Undergraduate Degree): $54600 ($28/hour)

  • Masters: $56550 ($29/hour)

Location:

FinDev Canada headquarters is in downtown Montreal with the flexibility to work under a hybrid model (home/office). For the right candidate Toronto will be considered.

Team & Position Overview

The Impact Enablement group at FinDev Canada is dedicated to fulfilling our mandate through four specialized teams: (1) Impact Strategies & Thought Leadership; (2) Environmental Climate and Social Risk; (3) Technical Assistance; and (4) Development Impact. The Development Impact team is tasked with evaluating impacts of our financing and investment activities using systematic impact management and measurement approaches throughout the investment lifecycle in accordance with our Development Impact Policy.

We are seeking a Junior Associate to provide support to the Development Impact team in (1) conducting ongoing portfolio monitoring activities and (2) assessing climate finance through the analysis of investment alignment with climate finance frameworks and contribution to climate related measurement verification and reporting activities.related measurement verification and reporting activities.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Collaborate with Associate and Senior Impact Officers to conduct annual monitoring of portfolio transactions including reviewing client documentation validating impact performance data synthesizing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information and preparing high-quality annual impact reportsquality annual impact reports
  • Support Associates and Senior Impact Officers in assessing climate finance through the analysis of investment alignment with climate finance frameworks such as the MDBs/IDFC Common Principles for Climate Mitigation Finance Tracking and by contributing to climaterelated measurement verification and reporting activities. This includes reviewing climate eligibility criteria evaluating mitigation and adaptation benefits and analyzing greenhouse gas emissions data including baselines projected reductions and methodologies for estimating avoided or reduced emissions.
  • Perform other tasksthat contribute to the teams and the corporations objectives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Educational Background: Recent graduate with an undergraduate degree in business economics sustainable finance climate change and development studies international affairs environment or another relevant discipline.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities with demonstrated capacity to synthesize information and draw meaningful insights.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with other analytical or data visualizationvisualization tools is an asset.
  • Work Ethic: Self-starter who can work independently manage multiple tasks and demonstratestarter who can work independently manage multiple tasks and demonstrate initiative and strong motivation.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
  • Experience in climate measurement monitoring and evaluation practices
  • Working proficiency in Spanish.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Canadian citizens permanent residents or hold a valid work visa at the time of application.

Applicants must meet government security screening requirements.

Applicants have completed their studies within the past year.

Applicants must be able to work full-time (37.5hrs/week).
