Maintenance Group Leaders:
This is a full-time salaried position located at the General Motors St. Catharines Propulsion facility.
As a GEN V Maintenance Group Leader you will be responsible for supervising a group of Mechanical and Electrical CAW skilled trades in which you foster an atmosphere of teamwork inclusiveness and cooperation. You will be an integral part of a team driving GMs future.
This work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems focusing on Safety People Quality Responsiveness Cost and Environment (SPQRCE). Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new technical skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes to support this historical and game-changing progression to electric and autonomous vehicles.
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience.
Must be able to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
High level of critical thinking and analytical ability where problems are complex.
Proven project management and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency (i.e. MS office excel word PowerPoint SharePoint)etc.)
Must be willing to work weekends and off shifts with extended hours
Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams
Knowledge of GMS and BPD processes
Successful completion of a University degree or college diploma(engineering preferred)
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
Proficient in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes strong mechanical aptitude
Experience supervising employees in a union environment
Experience implementing Built-in-Quality Initiatives
Engine/transmission manufacturing experience
Experience with SAP and MAXIMO (preferred)
Minimum of 1 year of related maintenance experience (preferred)- Responsible for the effective use of personnel material and equipment
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $76100.00 to $114300.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
