Job Summary
The School of Chemistry Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position ofResearch Fellow. The successful candidate will join a newly established interdisciplinary research laboratory focused on developing non-invasive strategies to control gene expression and cellular behaviour.
The Research Fellow will play a significant role in designing and executing independent and collaborative research projects developing and characterizing engineered molecular systems mentoring students and contributing to high-quality publications and grant-related activities. The position offers opportunities to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and strong interdisciplinary collaborations across NTU.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and conduct independent and collaborative research in synthetic biology and protein engineering
Lead experimental planning data analysis and interpretation to generate high-quality reproducible research outcomes
Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals and contribute to grant proposals and research reports
Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in experimental techniques and scientific thinking
Collaborate with faculty and researchers across CCEB and other NTU schools
Support the overall research mission of the lab by contributing to technology development knowledge dissemination and translational opportunities
Job Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Bioengineering or a closely related discipline
At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals
Proficiency in common molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g. cloning protein expression cell culture)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with mentoring students and working effectively in a team-based research environment
