| Job Description: | High throughput sample processing utilizing the latest in laboratory automation. Strategic NGS instrumentation utilization to ensure meaningful and quality data with a fast turnaround time. Proactive NGS instrument maintenance ensuring consistent quality and performance across instruments. Generation of sequencing libraries. High throughput DNA and RNA isolation from single cells or nuclei of diverse sample types. Quality analysis of DNA and RNA using multiple platforms including bioanalyzer nanodrop gel electrophoresis. Develops new protocols and organizes data for analysis. Provides preliminary analysis of output from instrumentation. Creates QA/QC procedures for new scientific protocols Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies. Requests purchase orders as needed provides pricing comparisons. Maintains compliance with Environmental Health and Safety offices. Performs surveys on a regular basis to assess compliance with local state and federal regulations. Serves to maintain laboratory within federal and university guidelines. Maintains equipment performance. |
| Expected Salary: | $22.50 - $24.00 per hour |
| Required Qualifications: | Bachelors degree in biology or a closely related life science field. |
| Preferred: | Bachelors degree in molecular biology biotechnology biochemistry or other relevant scientific degree. 1-3 years experience in high-throughput NGS sample processing and RNA/DNA isolation. Technical expertise with Illumina NGS and 10X Genomics platforms including whole-genome sequencing targeted amplicon sequencing ATAC-seq and RNA sequencing. |
