The Foreman Electrician works under the guidance of a senior level Foreman or Superintendent and will oversee the direct work of a crew of Helpers Apprentices and Journeyman electricians. Foreman electricians routinely perform installation alteration and/or repair of electrical systems conductors and associated materials and equipment simultaneously while leading training mentoring and performing evaluations of their crew.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor team members while ensuring a safe work environment and strict code compliance
- Work alongside the crew performing highquality electrical installations repairs and troubleshooting
- Assist in manpower scheduling and crew organization
- Develop material lists from drawings layouts and jobsite needs and communicate requirements to supervision
- Support production and budget goals by clearly communicating expectations and work plans
- Ensure all work meets NEC and local code requirements
- Measure cut bend thread assemble and install conduit using hand tools threaders and mechanical benders
- Install and terminate electrical devices fixtures panelboards branch circuits and feeders
- Demonstrate working knowledge of circuitry and electrical theory
- Read and interpret project specifications blueprints and schematics
- Lay out small work areas including underground layouts based on drawings and project documents
- Accurately size wire conduit and junction boxes
- Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power systems
Requirements
- 710 years of electrical experience within industrial environments
- Proficient in reading electrical drawings PLC wiring and I/Olink diagrams
- Strong leadership ability with experience coaching teams of approximately five electricians
- Ability to understand plan and execute a defined scope of work
- Skilled at communicating with other trades and coordinating shared work areas
- Willingness to learn and interpret construction documents and related materials
- Understanding of customer service and maintaining strong client relationships
- Intermediate understanding of construction schedules and how to follow them
- Ability to learn and use BlueBeam Navisworks and similar project-planning software
- Willingness to participate in leadership and skilldevelopment training
- Demonstrates strong communication decisionmaking and leadership abilities
- Equipped with and able to use required personal and professional tools
- Willing and able to work project schedules including overtime and weekends as needed
- Demonstrates strong teamwork reliability and safe work practices
- Possesses basic mechanical aptitude math skills and the ability to read construction documents
- Willing to participate in onthejob classroom or virtual training programs
