Highly involved in day-to-day payroll execution while remaining attentive to the strength of processes you play a key role in ensuring the accuracy compliance and ongoing evolution of the payroll function within an organization of approximately 400 employees. Working closely with internal teams you help build a reliable consistent payroll operation aligned with Lemays high standards.
What You Will Accomplish With Us
- Take full ownership of the end-to-end Canadian payroll cycle (Québec Ontario Alberta) including a unionized environment (4 employees).
- Participate in payroll processing for New York.
- Process payroll using the ADP Workforce Now platform.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and firm policies.
- Validate transfer and post timesheets in the system.
- Validate monthly government remittances.
- Collaborate with the Talent and Culture team on employee-related matters (hires departures sick leaves CNESST claims etc.).
- Prepare and verify T4 and W2 statements.
- Ensure payroll documents and practices comply with federal and provincial legislation.
- Actively contribute to the optimization of payroll processes and the ADP Workforce Now HRIS.
- Manage the payroll inbox.
Qualifications :
What Will Set You Apart
- DEP or DEC in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Rigor attention to detail discretion autonomy strong organizational skills and respect for deadlines.
- Resourcefulness and ability to implement processes and solutions in a constantly evolving environment.
- Comfort and interest in working with multiple systems and technological tools.
- Canadian Payroll Association certification (an asset).
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now (an asset).
- Experience with CCQ payroll and knowledge of CMEQ software (an asset).
- Bilingual in English and French both spoken and written to support clients outside Québec.
