Job Summary:

Works under the direction and supervision of Recreation Therapist to create implement lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities.

Job Duties:

  • Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning organizing directing and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups.
  • Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs.
  • Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule ensuring schedule is posted.
  • Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants.
  • Assists with the purchase organization and storage of recreational supplies.
  • Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with tags coded with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander and dietary restrictions needed by participant.
  • Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Preferred)
