Production Superintendent Food Manufacturing (2nd Shift)
Location: Ponca City OK
Shift: 2nd Shift 4:00 PM1:00 AM (MonFri occasional weekends)
Salary: $75000$85000 up to 14% annual bonus
Reports To: Operations Manager Direct Reports: 4 Production Supervisors
Job Overview
Were seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead second-shift operations in a food manufacturing / USDA-regulated facility. This role oversees production safety quality and efficiency while driving continuous improvement and meeting aggressive production targets (93% efficiency).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily production and shipment schedules to meet customer demand
- Manage manpower equipment and production capacity to maximize efficiency and control costs
- Ensure compliance with USDA food safety and workplace safety standards
- Maintain a safe hazard-free production environment through training audits and inspections
- Review production reports monitor inventory and communicate performance across shifts
- Develop train and mentor Production Supervisors; support new equipment and process changes
- Drive continuous improvement waste reduction and productivity initiatives
- Collaborate with Maintenance to improve uptime and equipment utilization
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing or production operations
- Proven experience managing supervisors and large production teams
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations food safety and manufacturing safety standards
- Excellent decision-making organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Meat Science Business or related field
- Experience with budgeting capital projects and cost optimization
- Familiarity with McDonalds or major food service production standards
- Background in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing
Work Environment
- Production floor environment (hot/cold temperatures loud noise strong odors)
- Requires standing walking and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- PPE required in designated areas
