Job Title: Student Pastor
Job Description: The Student Pastor leads middle school and high school ministry with a focus on discipleship relationships and leadership development. This role works closely with the Next Gen Pastor to carry out the vision for student ministry.
Job Classification: Full-Time Salary (Exempt) - 40 hours
Reports to: Next Gen Pastor
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead Student Ministry for middle school and high school students
- Build train and care for volunteer leaders and student leaders
- Oversee weekly programming student small groups and special events
- Provide pastoral care to students and their families
- Support and implement the vision and direction of the Pastor of Student and Young Adult Ministries
- Participate in creating and executing discipleship pathways for student ministry
- Collaborate with the Kids Director on transition plans from Kids Ministry to Student Ministry
- Manage the Student Ministry budget responsibly
- Lead local school partnerships and FCA involvement
- Communicate clearly and consistently with parents and leaders
- Coach and develop Student Ministry residents
- Represent Student Ministry well within the broader church culture
Spiritual Criteria:
- Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Commitment to continued personal spiritual growth and formation
- Model the standards and expectations of leaders within Journey Christian Church
- Must attend Journey Christian Church
Experience:
- A college degree is required
- At least 3 years full time experience in student ministry.
- Skills in Microsoft Office programs and other forms of technology is preferred
- Organized; flexible; ability to multi-task
- Exemplary oral & written skills
