Summary: The Dialysis RN (Registered Nurse) is responsible for providing care to patients who are in chronic and acute kidney failure who require dialysis or hemodialysis to filter out waste from their bodies. The Dialysis RN monitors patients during their dialysis session and works under the supervision of the nursing leader to coordinate the delivery of care to patients requiring dialysis.
As a registered nurse the Dialysis RN is also responsible for assessing planning delivering and evaluating each level of nursing care provided throughout the patients stay and actively planning to manage patient outcomes across the continuum of care. Collaborates with the entire care team and communicates with family and patients.

Requirements:
2-year associate degree or bachelors degree (preferred)
1-3 years nursing experience preferably in med surg/ICU/ER or Dialysis
Prior experience providing nursing care to patients with acute dialysis (preferred) *Competency in providing dialysis.
BLS - Mandatory upon start date
ACLS upon hire or within 90 days of start date
Excellent communication and people skills
Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
Team detail and goal oriented
Positive professional and empathetic demeanor
The RN will also be expected to work as a staff nurse as needed when the dialysis schedule allows. The number of dialysis treatments will vary based on census and types of patients in the facility. Therefore providing dialysis treatments in addition to providing direct patient care will allow the nurse to work full-time even when the dialysis census is low.
