Were looking for aCrime Lab Analyst to join our CSI Unit a detail-driven mission-focused team dedicated to providing accurate and timely forensic analysis. The Crime Lab Analyst plays a critical role in crime scene investigation vehicle examinations print processing and other forensic disciplines to ensure high-quality scientific results and support the integrity of criminal investigations. This position will be located in St. Martin Parish.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree with twelve semester hours in biology or chemistry and an additional twelve semester hours in a biological science chemistry forensic science molecular physics physics criminalistics or pharmacology.

A combination of coursework is allowed.

NOTE:
Applicants must meet the current educational requirements of the hiring agencys accrediting body for the laboratory.

NOTE:
Criminal Justice is not considered a qualifying educational field.

NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Crime Lab Analyst you will conduct forensic analyses at the request of local state and federal law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. Examples of other duties included are;
Conducts advanced level forensic analysis on evidence and reference specimens related to criminal activity.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of casework collects data and establishes facts interprets finding and draws valid conclusions in conjunction with scientific analysis.
Performs technical and administrative (if authorized) reviews of case work performed by other analysts.
Communicates effectively with and provides detailed information to law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies regarding forensic services.
Assists with supervisory and quality control personnel with quality control and accreditation functions such as inspections audits reviewing policies and procedures reviewing and proposing recommendations on operations and conducting research regarding scientific advancements.
Demonstrates competency and proficiency by participating in an approved testing program(s).
Assists other laboratory or agency personnel with routine administrative tasks related to the support of forensic operations such as inventory purchasing budgeting tours escorting of guests etc.

Appointment Type: Job Appointment Probational or Promotional
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Crime Laboratory Analyst 1 2 3 or 4.
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
Location:This vacancy is located in St. Martin Parish.
Compensation: Salaries listed below are Special Entrance Rates. The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
The bi-weekly rate for this position is as follows:
Crime Lab Analyst 1 (TS309) - $1790.40
Crime Lab Analyst2 (TS310) - $1916.00
Crime Lab Analyst 3 (TS311) - $2320.00
Crime Lab Analyst 4 (TS313) - $2564.00
