Description: This is an experienced-level position that requires extensive hands-on experience with machine set-ups and proving out CNC this role you will be responsible for proving out new programs and working closely with the Programming team to successfully set up validate and run blue-streak jobs. You will operate CNC machines to meet production requirements while maintaining a safe and productive work environment and ensuring machine efficiencies meet daily performance goals. Responsibilities include completing set-ups and changeovers as directed monitoring machine operations and production processes to identify tool wear verify proper machine function and ensure part quality and output levels. You will make offset and program adjustments as well as tooling and insert changes to maintain consistent quality and production quantities and you will identify issues and communicate with Programming as needed. The position also requires mechanical and visual inspection of parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers calipers height gages gage pins and thread gages to ensure compliance with blueprints work orders engineering standards and customer specifications. Additional duties include maintaining accurate timekeeping through the company shop floor system keeping a clean and organized workstation through daily housekeeping practices and performing required daily machine maintenance.
Job Requirements: A high school diploma is required along with 8 or more years of precision CNC mill experience with a strong preference for candidates who have extensive machine set-up and blue-streak experience. Applicants must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent organizational skills and self-motivation. The role requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting and perform effectively under deadline pressure. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret blueprints are essential. Physically this position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in environments where noise levels may range from quiet to loud. Employees are required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the manufacturing floor including but not limited to eye and ear protection. The job may also occasionally require lifting and/or moving items weighing between 10 and 50 pounds.
