Occupational Therapist (OT)Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)Location): Boston On-sitePosition Type: Full-Time Summary of position:The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Childrens Center) promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research intervention training and policy. The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides individualized treatment leads small classroom-based groups and conducts pre-vocational Life Skills activities for students with social emotional behavioral and learning challenges. The Occupational Therapist delivers trauma informed care through direct interventions in self-regulation sensory processing fine and gross motor skills executive functioning and self-care to maximize student participation in academic and daily activities. Maintains a small student caseload and works as part of a dedicated OT Department. Essential duties:Provides occupational therapy intervention in 1:1 sessions in the OT gym or within the classroom setting and leads small classroom-based with staff across disciplines on the impact of underlying skills on students academic social and behavioral functioning and on accommodations and modifications to support learning and informal assessment and diagnostic evaluations for 3-year Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives based on evaluations and treatment data in coordination with teaching quarterly Progress Reports based on observational and treatment with parents directly and/or through case managers on students occupational therapy the schools integrated team model through professional communication and collaboration. QualificationsEducation:Masters Degree (MS) or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy is Licensure Board Certified through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is :Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school or pediatric setting with a similar student population is working with students with social emotional and behavioral challenges :First Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint training is required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout tenure. (Cover letter and a recent resume required for consideration.) only if applicable.
