The Data Engineer is responsible for structuring organizing and analyzing operational and related data to support effective analysis and enable data-driven decision-making across the global operations team. This position advises and guides end users on the best tools to conduct analyses interpret data and implement best practices for end-to-end data projects. The Data Engineer acts as a key liaison between analytics and various operational areas to ensure data needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform raw data from various sources into curated user-friendly datasets for operational teams. (30%)
- Maintain and optimize existing SQL jobs processes and datasets using industry best practices. (30%)
- Provide data support to teams and embedded analysts; interface with strategic customers as required. (15%)
- Monitor SQL processes to ensure data objects are refreshed correctly and on time. (15%)
- Develop effective tools reports and dashboards for business monitoring. (5%)
- Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures including Code of Conduct and audit requirements.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in relational databases stored procedures functions and jobs.
- Strong software skills especially in complex query writing and analytical functions.
- Familiarity with Apex and Tableau is a plus.
- Ability to work hands-on with analysis as well as manage analytical projects.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and research skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for presenting concepts or hypotheses.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong time management and adaptability skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Data Science Statistics Computer Science or related discipline.
- 3 years of database experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience structuring organizing and analyzing data to support effective analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience advising and guiding teams on best practices for data analysis.
- Comfortable working hybrid.
- Comfortable in a temporary role.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $45.00/hour paid weekly on Fridays.
