Job Summary

Randstad is seeking a high-caliber IT Field Engineer to support a major transportation and logistics client during a critical infrastructure transition. Based onsite at the REA Lab this role focuses on the end-to-end lifecycle of Food & Beverage (F&B) POS environments specifically driving the migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11. You will be responsible for ensuring production-ready images managing deployments via SCCM/Intune and providing Tier 3 escalation support both in the lab and across remote field locations. This is a high-visibility role requiring a blend of technical precision in PowerShell and SQL a firm grasp of PCI DSS security standards and the mobility to provide hypercare support at depots and aboard mobile units.

Key Responsibilities

POS Environment Management: Build upgrade and troubleshoot F&B POS systems including peripherals such as printers Payment Entry Devices (PEDs) and cash drawers.
Windows 11 Migration: Serve as a key contributor to the Windows 10 to 11 migration ensuring all system images are production-ready and optimized.
Tier 3 Escalation: Provide advanced troubleshooting support for issues escalated from Tier 2 support teams.
Endpoint Administration: Utilize Intune and SCCM for critical patch deployments application upgrades and security policy enforcement.
Deployment & Hypercare: Provide onsite deployment and hypercare support at remote locations crew bases and occasionally onboard moving transit units.
Technical Operations: Manage standalone SQL (Express or Standard) installations and utilize PowerShell for environment automation and complex troubleshooting.
Security & Compliance: Ensure all builds and configurations align with modern cybersecurity guidelines and PCI DSS 4.x standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 2 years of experience building and deploying POS systems within retail environments.
Technical Proficiency: Strong background in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Retail/Commerce) is highly preferred.
Systems Knowledge: Advanced experience with Windows-based tablets peripheral connectivity and OS imaging.
Security Standards: A solid understanding of PCI DSS 4.x guidelines and building secure compliant retail systems.
Scripting & Data: Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and SQL Server configuration.
Mobility: Ability to work Monday Friday onsite at the REA Lab and travel to regional hubs or aboard vehicles as needed (including lifting up to 50 lbs).
