Job Summary: The Mental Health Clinician provides comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated adult patients within a correctional facility setting. This role focuses on assessment crisis intervention treatment planning and coordination of care in collaboration with correctional and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
Conduct mental health evaluations crisis interventions and ongoing clinical assessments.
Develop implement and coordinate treatment and disposition plans for appropriate levels of care.
Provide individual and group therapeutic interventions on mental health observation and assigned units.
Collaborate with reentry social workers to support discharge and transition planning.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and required statistical reports.
Coordinate care with Department of Correction staff to ensure patient access housing and treatment compliance.
Participate in weekly clinical supervision and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
Experience diagnosing mental health conditions Required
Experience providing assessment and treatment to adults with behavioral health conditions Required
Experience working with patients with substance use histories and severe mental illness Preferred
Inpatient or comparable clinical experience Preferred
Ability to work in a correctional/prison environment including navigating security protocols
Ability to travel within Rikers Island facilities as required
DOC and PREA compliance required

Education: Masters Degree in Social Work Psychology or a related field Required

License
New York State License in Social Work Required
OR
New York State License in Mental Health Counseling Required
OR
New York State Licensure in Psychology Required
