The OncologyNurse Navigator (ONN) will work collaboratively with the Cancer Center ofAcadiana healthcare team to assess plan facilitate track and monitorpatients with cancer. The ONN works closely with the patient and family; makesappropriate referrals to meet the patients individual cultural and spiritualneeds and monitors and evaluates services provided. The ONN works as a liaisonto and in collaboration with patients physicians disease management liaisonsand other healthcare providers.
WORK HOURS: 16 hours/week; sometimes more;sometimes less or as required to provide departmental services as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelorof Science in Nursing with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience preferablyin oncology.
CurrentLouisiana RN license
OCN(oncology certified nurse) desirable
Requirements:
Ability to assess plan implement and evaluate nursing careaccording to individual needs.
Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk.
Interest in providing cancer patient case management as well asdirect patient care.
Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulousattention to detail
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills aswell as excellent interpersonal skills with patients staff and other healthcare professionals.
Requires excellent organizational skills and clinical knowledgeregarding specialty care services as well as coordination of services.
Must possess good time management skills
Familiaritywith standard computer programs and EMR systems
