Job Summary

Summary:Working side-by-side with AITs customers personnel at the customer site supporting production and physical plant equipment the PLC Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician is an active participant in the maintenance and continuous improvement of large-scale automated aerospace assembly systems. They apply knowledge of controls/electrical/electro-mechanical maintenance and repair best practices as well as Root Cause Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement principles in diagnosing malfunctions restoring equipment to operation and determining equipment modifications/enhancements. They maintain test and repair PLCs electrical/electro-mechanical systems and components. Duties and Responsibilities: Readily understands AIT software and controls architecture in order to operate independently our with remote SME support to resolve issues in a timely manner. Respond and follow up to customer inquiries or problems in a timely and effective up and shuts down equipment in accordance with operations requirements company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and technical support on PLCs and network interfaces throughout the manufacturing work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theory and principles written specifications local and national electrical codes properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of electronic and repairs electrical/electro-mechanical equipment including but not limited to PLCs numerical controls power supplies drives gages/HMI and test wiring diagrams drawing specification and instructions both verbally or in writing concerning emergency and scheduled repair installation and inspection work to be electronic equipment by checking testing and replacing faulty components circuit modules printed circuit boards and similar electronic and install communication cables power distribution cables and wiring and performs splicing as all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the with other departments/personnel to achieve processing/manufacturing other duties as and Work Experience:Bachelors or Associates degree in related field or more years and/or equivalent experience preferred in PLC and HMI configuration and programming Control circuit analysis design troubleshooting and solving software/hardware issues in an industrial high voltage electrical maintenance.A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic computer experience/operation and PLC programming is knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics and mechanical Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:Ability to obtain maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance is preferred but may not be Skills and Abilities:List of needed knowledge skills and abilities to successfully accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the and comply with good safety practices and habits including but not limited to use of all routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is depth knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics and mechanical and understands blueprints schematics and/or measuring consistently and predictably; is reliable responsible and dependable in fulfilling obligations and diligently follows through on commitments and consistently meets thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas and effective communication skills in both written and spoken how to use the computers including such tasks as turning the computer on and off locating and opening files navigate to websites perform searches and download of computer applications including email databases word-processing program and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Office).Identifies problems and review relevant information to develop options then implement the effectively with different levels of management team members and Conditions:Environment Type:Indoor office and production environments may or may not be temperature Types:While no adverse environmental conditions expected it is a production environment with risk from:Sharp and/or hot objectsDirt dust grease and/or oilNoisy environmentWork Hours:Standard work schedule overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines required travel and emergent conditions.
