Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to learn andperform basic entry-level technical work involving the installation andmaintenance of the Countys IT-related systems and equipment involving systemssoftware and applications. Work responsibilities include communicating withusers installing various hardware and/or software supporting county-widesystems hardware components Internet software troubleshooting and resolvingIT-related problems. Employees in these positions are supervised closelyuntil becoming more proficient and provide assistance to county users to ensuretheir systems function properly and meet their needs. Employees aremonitored closely routinely receive hands-on guidance from higher level ITstaff and report to an IT Specialist.

Minimum Qualifications

Systems: Must have an Associates Degree in Computer Science(or a related field) OR at least two (2) years of experience in basicprogramming experience using based programming languages such asVisual Basic or C#. Qualified experience may substitute for the requirededucation.

NOTE: Qualifying education training and experience thatprovide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job willbe considered.

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work nights or weekends as required. Must be able to work from home using assigned IT equipment when on-call and must carry and respond to a cell phone. Must have a valid drivers license. Applicants will be required to submit to a thorough background investigation prior to employment.
