As a Preconstruction Engineer with McShane Construction youll play a crucial role in ensuring a thorough understanding of everything required to successfully bid and win multi-family commercial and education construction projects. Youll have hands-on involvement in preconstruction services and direct collaboration with industry professionals while being part of a company that values innovation collaboration and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze bid specifications and drawings to prepare detailed project estimates for time cost materials and labor.
- Collaborate with project management and marketing teams on proposals bid analysis constructability reviews and preliminary project schedules.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings to define project scope and requirements.
- Assist with purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or a related field
- An eye for detail organizational prowess and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors and teammates.
- Ability to use or learn estimating software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
