The ideal Ultrasound Tech will play a crucial role in helping us continue to be the premier provider of radiologic services in Iowa by providing high-quality imaging services ensuring patient safety and delivering accurate diagnostic information. Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Technologist: - Performs ultrasound procedures using established protocols and assists the radiologist in the interpretation of the technical aspects of the completed examination.
- Providing compassionate care including explanation of procedures to patients their family and others as needed to ensure the patients understanding of the exam to be performed.
- Assists the radiologists in the production of sonographic images and in the implementation of new technical procedures.
- Evaluates the needs of the patients by positioning transferring and immobilizing as needed for the proper completion of the exam.
- Coordinates the work schedule for efficient patient flow.
- Performs quality control on all assigned equipment.
- Operates and maintains a properly stocked and operational ultrasound examination room.
Qualifications of the Ultrasound Technologist: - ARDMS Certification
- Board certified in obstetric and abdominal imaging. Vascular experience is required vascular certification preferred. If not vascular certified at time of hire employee is required to take exam within 18 months.
- Experience in breast imaging is required; board certification is preferred not required.
