RESULTS - Uses a combination of job knowledge initiative sound decision making innovation adaptability and problem solving. oUnderstanding of standard engineering concepts design principles and math calculations. oDemonstrated and practical experience in design drawings to include create and editing. oPractical experience with configuration performance testing tools and a high degree of expertise in scripting designing running and analyzing test results within a Telecommunications Network environment. oStrong analytic strategic interpersonal critical and creative thinking problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. oStrong time management and ability to lean to plan and manage multiple phased complex projects on time and within scope. oKnowledge of transport networks to include long-haul DWDM submarine terrestrial microwave satellite metro fiber passive optical networks (PON) and packet networks. oExperience using tools to analyze network traffic and assess network performance. oExperience configuring and using packet capture technologies including Wireshark and TCPDump. oKnowledge of networks and fundamental layer 1 2 3 and 4 protocols including IP TCP UDP BCP or MPLS. oPreferred experience with NetScout including nGeniusOne InfiniStream or Pulse Gigamon or Riverbed AppResponse or NetProfiler. oPreferred experience with quantifying and analyzing network performance by facilitating the collection of large sets of network data including telemetry status or flow. oPreferred knowledge of voice and video protocols including VoIP RTP SIP SRTP IP multicast or RTMP. SAFETY & SECURITY - Supports a safe work environment by following all workplace safety rules and guidelines; complies with applicable Security policies and procedures. CTO HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) Engineering: This Performance Management Engineer role requires specialized expertise in HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) network architecture and operations. The position is responsible for the design implementation Performance monitoring optimization and ongoing support of HFC-based access networks supporting broadband video and voice services. Scope of HFC Responsibilities Required Qualifications HFC Specific Preferred Qualifications HFC Specific Additional Job Requirements: This is an entry level engineer within the Performance Management discipline. Must be competent at preforming tasks for further review by senior staff. Completes tasks on time and within budget. Works under close supervision with periodic review throughout process phases or project. Ability to apply engineering principles with computer software application design coding testing and quality assurance.
