About the Role

As a Sr Software Engineer at LendingClub youll help build and enhance the technology that powers loan originations risk decisioning borrower experiences and operational efficiency. Our technology teams move fast encourage experimentation and learning and continuously push for new and better solutions that drive company goals.

What Youll Do

  • Design build and maintain scalable high-availability software systems that power underwriting risk decisioning and operations workflows
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and business partners to translate the requirements into reliable technical solutions
  • Own end-to-end delivery of features from technical design and implementation to testing deployment and production support
  • Drive technical decision-making by evaluating tradeoffs proposing solutions and setting the bar for engineering best practices
  • Ensure high code quality through design reviews code reviews and automated testing
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify systems reduce technical debt and improve developer productivity

About You

  • 6 years of professional software development experience with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Expert-level Java experience with deep hands-on knowledge of Spring and microservices-based architectures at scale
  • Strong expertise in relational databases (SQL MySQL Oracle) including schema design
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the full software development lifecycle from requirements through production support
  • End-to-end ownership of systems and services architecture implementation deployment monitoring alerting and operational excellence
  • You set and enforce a high bar for code quality maintainability performance and scalability through reviews testing and best practices
  • You are passionate about solving complex problems
  • Self-starter with the ownership mindset
  • Bonus points: you have experience leveraging AI in software development
  • Bonus points: you have experience in FinTech especially in Underwriting domain

Work Location
San Francisco

The above locations are eligible offices for this locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this roles team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model and our teams are in-office Tuesdays Wednesdays and -person attendance is essential for this roles success and remote placement will not be offers relocation based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements
Primarily PT

While the position will primarily work local hours LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 00. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge experience education skills and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClubs Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance employee performance and eligible earnings).
