Job Summary

Watson Candidate Assistant is here to answer questions about working at Dallas ISD.

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance Information System or related degree
Masters Degree in Accounting and Information Technology Business Administration Public Administration or related field preferred
CPA certification required and CIA or CISA or CFE or CA certification preferred.
Over 10 years of directly relevant experience in auditing or comparable fields.
More than 5 years of supervisory experience within audit or related disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult concepts effectively write clear and conclusive audit work papers and write concise narrative audit reports.
Advanced knowledge of laws regulations practices principles and procedures pertaining to accounting financial and Information Technology auditing.
Demonstrated knowledge of automation and administrative controls used in multi-platform processing environments security and control implications of operation and database management systems and a basic understanding of systems design and development.
Demonstrated organizational communication supervisory and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
Knowledge of professional accounting and auditing standards including standards for the Professional Practice of the Institute of Internal Auditing (IIA) Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Must also have knowledge of common auditing practices used in the K-12 environment.

Performs advanced level professional internal auditing work. Work involves directing and/or managing performance financial IT and compliance audit projects; providing consulting services to organizational management and staff; providing major input to development of the Annual Audit Plan; and providing training coaching and supervision to Internal Audit staff. Responsible for directing and/or managing complex investigations and examinations of alleged fraud and financial impropriety. Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards. Works with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

1. Direct and manage audit and consulting operations and personnel ensuring the highest quality of audits customer service compliance with the districts policies and procedures and alignment with federal and state laws and regulations applicable to operations.
the execution of individual audits defined in the audit plan ensuring the highest level of service quality and client satisfaction.
the Office of Internal Audits initiatives by implementing action plans related to risk assessment and annual planning audit execution audit reporting staff recruiting and development audit technology and Audit Committee reporting.
the Office of Internal Audits annual risk assessment and planning process to develop the audit plan and ensure the plan is responsive to and aligned with the risk profile of the organization.
leadership and mentoring in the department for succession planning.
short-term and long-term strategies for continuous improvement in audit operations and oversee the implementation of them.
department staff to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
hire and retain a team of high-performing audit professionals who possess outstanding knowledge experience ethics and integrity.
staff evaluations address conflicts and provide resolutions.
with District Code of Conduct and IIA Code of Ethics.
