AECOM is seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager that will oversee the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects from planning through completion. The role combines leadership and coordination with a strong focus on quality controlensuring mechanical systems such as HVAC plumbing and fire protection meet project design requirements specifications and applicable industry standards. By collaborating closely with engineers contractors and inspectors to help maintain the integrity performance and long-term reliability of all mechanical installations while driving projects to successful outcomes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor the installation testing and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing systems confirming proper functionality and performance.
- Inspect mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and fire protection for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications.
- Identify document and report non-conformances coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance.
- Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports logs and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking.
- Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections punch lists and project closeouts.
- Witness and document critical tests such as pressure tests leak tests and system start-ups.
- Verify the quality of materials workmanship and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- Two years of experience working on federal and high education managed construction projects.
- Three years of experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals.
- Knowledge of local and national codes.
- Knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
- Experience working in and around historic properties and occupied modernizations are desirable.
- OSHA 10-hour training certification.
- Certified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
- Experience working with federal Project Management Systems
