Job Summary

The Yext Internal Audit team is a dynamic and growing team that assists management with the efficient and effective design of internal controls over financial reporting and provides assurance activities over the proper design and operation of those controls and well as other significant business processes. The Manager Internal Audit reports directly to the VP Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management located in New York and will be responsible for ensuring that our company executes the companies SOX program and ensure the controls address the changing risk landscape of our growing company.

What Youll Do:

  • Serve as a key owner of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and India Companies Act (ICA) compliance programs across business process and IT domains
  • Maintain and enhance the annual internal control program plan scope and timeline
  • Ensure alignment with PCAOB standards COSO framework and regulatory expectations
  • Assess SOX applicability for new processes systems and organizational changes
  • Review risk and control matrices (RCMs)and flowcharts for accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness including management review controls
  • Identify control gaps deficiencies and potential improvements
  • Evaluate and classify control deficiencies in accordance with SOX guidance
  • Monitor remediation plans and validate timely and effective resolution of deficiencies
  • Evaluate the impact of system implementations upgrades and decommissioning on SOX controls
  • Partner with process owners to address control issues and strengthen governance
  • Review SOX testing workpapers to ensure accuracy sufficiency of evidence and adherence to audit standards
  • Ensure consistent testing methodology across business and IT controls
  • Monitor testing progress and deadlines
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and process owners across the organization
  • Provide guidance and training to control owners on SOX requirements and expectations
  • Manage and develop auditors (Business Process and IT) ensuring quality and consistency of work
  • Foster a strong control culture while maintaining independence and objectivity
  • Oversee use of GRC tool and analytics where applicable
  • Act as a primary liaison with external auditors for SOX-related matters

What You Have:

  • 5-8 years cumulative experience in SOX compliance internal/external audit or business consulting
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or business related field
  • Experience with SOX compliance efforts or as part of external integrated audits (within Saas environment a plus)
  • Flowchart experience with ability to understand process and translate to visual process flows
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (used to communicate with Management about process controls emerging audit and compliance issues and communicate with external vendors/auditors and non-technical stakeholders)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Embraces the challenge of evaluating process and controls in a fast paced environment
  • Strong understanding of both business and IT General Controls
  • Good Business process knowledge and ability to identify gaps in design
  • Skilled at building relationships at cross functions and regions; collaborate well with others with experience working in cross cultural environments
  • CPA/ CA/ CIA/ CISA or other relevant certification preferred
