Plans andpreparesproduction schedules for manufacturing with limited supervision by performing the following duties. Provides guidance and leadership to other planners andassiststhe Materials Manager as needed.
Responsibilities
Strong knowledge of MRP / ERP systems including AS/400 and Microsoft D365
Reviews MRP reports and manages departmental work orders to meet master productionschedule.
Ensures that raw material components are ordered and deliveredin a timely manner.
Analyzes plant and work center capacities for current and future production schedules todeterminelabor/material requirements and availability to meet demands.
Interfaces with Customer Service Sales and Marketing and Plant supervision to ensure that plan efficiency and schedule adherence aremaintained.
Reviews and approves Engineering Changes or new product implementation for feasibilityinventoryand capacity impact. Releases material against purchase orders to support production plan and work orders.
Maintains item master planning data for MRP or MPS parts. Monitors inventory levels for responsible commodities or product lines.
Interfaces with Manufacturing Production Quality EngineeringAccountingand other departments asrequiredto support the production plan.
Expeditesoperations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen maintenance and updates toitemmaster file as necessary.
Prepare production/inventory reports.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Participatesin Kaizens and other improvement opportunities.
Executes actions necessary in the disposition of non-conforming material including communicating with
Engineering Quality and the supplier to obtain RMA#s coordinate the return of material corrective action
replacement of conforming material and rework/scrap cost reimbursement.
Occasional travel to vendor sites is necessary.
Qualifications
Capabilities/Qualifications:
The successful candidate will need to show proven success in managing complex fast-paced assembly operations.
AS/400 Microsoft Word Excel (VLookup Pivot Tables Formulas) Lotus Notes MRPII applications APICS certificationhelpful CPIM helpful.

Education /Experience:
Bachelors Degree (four-year college or university)
