Position Summary

The Maintenance MechanicIIperforms a variety ofcomplexduties involved in the maintenance ofmachines andequipmentwithin production areas.They workfrom sketches specificationsdiagramsand verbal instructionsand use a widevariety of hand tools power tools and instruments.

  • Timely completion of assigned work requests
  • Accomplish preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
  • Consistently documented information for pass-down to management
  • Reduced downtime throughproactiveidentification oftrends

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs daily maintenance ofa variety ofproductionequipmentand machines including but not limited tocomputer numerical control (CNC) high-speed automationcompressorsand frompreventative maintenance (PM)program written and verbal instructions sketches etc.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex mechanical and/or hydraulic problems
  • Operates toolroom equipment for repair and replacement of parts associated with machine inventory of toolroom and order requests for necessary parts to the Supervisor or Team Lead.
  • Runs CNC controls and jogs machines with precision measuring instruments.
  • Uses precision gauges such as micrometers and dial indicators and common hand and power tools such as drills wrenches screwdrivers etc.
  • Estimates equipment-based downtime and reports to Supervisor or Team Lead along with any parts necessary for repair.
  • Installs new equipment and machinery to improve production processes including complex jobs for advanced machines.
  • Moves and resets machinery and equipment as needed for department fixtures from machines.
  • Runs Bridgeport lathe and milling machines.
  • Uses computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to input data document workflows and variations in machines and PM breakdowns modifications and installations.
  • Documents all work performed and parts used including part numbers on machinery in the CMMS regardless of how minor the repair/fix.
  • Interacts with Engineering Operations and Safety teams. Provides support services in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Remains current on new techniques and technology applicable to position.
  • Communicates effectively and continuously with Supervisor and/or Team Lead to discuss and resolve any hindrances to processing line time. Makes suggestions on how to improve throughput.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Uses equipment and materials properly and follows Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • 5yearsofexperience inmachinerymaintenancein a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with effective documentation of work detail data into a computerized system
  • Understanding ofthe implications of equipment downtime and inefficient processing
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Proficient inreadingschematics and blueprints andusingthem totroubleshoot
  • Ability to learn all aspectsof productionequipment and to teach otherskey primary adjustments
  • Strong organizational analyticaland problem-solving abilities with the abilityto handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to work independently as well aseffectively communicate and function as a team member
  • Moderate physical activity and manual dexterity with theability to lift 50lbswithoutassistance
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every day
