AV Event Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an AV Technician / Event Support Specialist to join our in-house audiovisual team. This role supports high-profile corporate meetings and live events including executive presentations CEO town halls and internal communications.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented calm under pressure and eager to grow technically in a live-event corporate environment. This position blends hands-on AV system operation with real-time event support requiring strong technical fundamentals and excellent service-oriented communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with the setup operation and strike of audiovisual systems for executive meetings and corporate events 30%
• Operate and monitor cameras audio mixers video switchers and LED wall systems 20%
• Serve as backup operator for video switching audio mixing and Zoom/Teams event management 15%
• Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and professionally during live events 15%
• Maintain and organize AV equipment cabling racks and storage areas 10%
• Follow established runbooks and checklists; contribute to documentation and training materials 5%
• Collaborate with IT camera operators and support staff to ensure smooth event execution 5%
• Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Years of experience: 2
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
• Audio mixers (digital consoles preferred)
• Video switchers (Blackmagic preferred)
• Video conferencing platforms (Zoom Microsoft Teams)
• Experience supporting live or hybrid events in a professional environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Strong technical aptitude with audio video and broadcast signal flow
• Ability to remain calm focused and professional in live high-pressure environments
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to operational consistency
• Strong communication and customer-service skills when working with executives and presenters
• Ability to follow technical documentation checklists and standard operating procedures
• Collaborative mindset with IT production and operations teams
• Willingness to learn new systems workflows and technologies

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimal travel expected. Role is primarily based in a corporate office/event environment. Occasional support for offsite events may be required. <10%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly walks sits stands lifts up to 50 lbs. and does computer work.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures policies and practices.
