Job Summary
Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join a large secondary school in Sheffield. This is a full-time role starting in April 2026 supporting the safe secure and efficient operation of the school site.
Caretaker required on a full-time basis
Well-established secondary school
Varied role across buildings and grounds
Supportive leadership and premises team
The successful Caretaker will be responsible for day-to-day site maintenance security and health and safety checks working closely with the Site Manager to ensure the school environment remains safe and welcoming for students staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and closing the school site
Carrying out routine maintenance repairs and DIY
Monitoring alarms CCTV and site security
Conducting health and safety and fire safety checks
Supporting contractors and overseeing works on site
Maintaining outdoor areas pathways and playgrounds
Assisting with room setups for exams and school events
Experience and Qualifications
Previous caretaking or facilities experience desirable
Practical maintenance and DIY skills
Good understanding of health and safety procedures
Reliable flexible and proactive approach
Legal right to work in the UK
