Job Overview
Progress Partners is seeking to hire a Boston-based Investment Banking Analyst to help support its M&A and Capital Markets transactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment experience with financial statements financial modeling and strong communication skills. Prior experience in executing M&A transactions in Technology verticals is highly preferred.
Analysts at Progress are given meaningful hands-on experience and deal responsibility. Progress fosters a collegial and entrepreneurial environment and teamwork is essential to the firms success. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated creative proactive outgoing and possess a strong background in finance and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of proposals client presentations and transaction materials.
- Conduct company and industry research and develop expert industry knowledge.
- Develop marketing materials complex financial analyses and models and ensure data integrity and accuracy of all deliverables.
- Monitor campaigns coordinate meetings and prepare and actively participate in weekly updates.
- Engage in due diligence processes including data room management and coordination between all stakeholders (internal and external).
- Establish and maintain the respect and trust of clients.
- Recruit supervise and develop interns.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 6-12 months of experience in investment banking transaction advisory corporate development or other similar experience (including co-ops and internships).
- Bachelors degree with a strong academic record required; finance/accounting business economics majors preferred.
- Knowledge of M&A and capital raising practices is essential.
- Solid finance/accounting knowledge; ability to analyze and value businesses.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Team player mentality combined with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical creative and strategic thinking skills.
- Strict attention to detail and advanced note taking abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables.
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills; Expert in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with accounting financial or market data databases or analysis tools.
