Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Rochester NY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Night Shift
Shift Pattern: 3 12.5-hour shifts
Shift Time: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Total Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join an inpatient behavioral health team for a contract assignment in the Rochester NY area. This role involves providing compassionate safe and evidence-based nursing care to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting
Perform patient assessments monitor mental status and document findings accurately
Administer medications and monitor therapeutic and adverse effects
Maintain patient safety through observation de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
Collaborate with psychiatrists physicians social workers and interdisciplinary care teams
Implement treatment plans and individualized care interventions
Ensure compliance with hospital policies safety standards and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Participate in patient education and discharge planning
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of NY or compact if applicable)
Minimum 12 years of recent Behavioral Health or Psychiatric nursing experience
Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
Ability to work night shifts weekends and holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health units
Strong assessment communication and crisis-management skills
