The Middle School Classroom Teacher (Grades 4-6) is a full time position reporting to the Head of the Middle School. The classroom teacher is responsible for guiding the social emotional and academic growth of a class of students. The ability to appreciate and work effectively across individual and cultural differences is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare lesson plans following curriculum guidelines and requirements.
Teach the assigned curriculum using different instructional resources correct assignments administer tests observe and evaluate students progress.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities by integrating competencies and goals into the lesson plans.
Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
Meet with the parents to discuss student progress and problems.
Participate in faculty and professional meetings educational conferences and other teacher training workshops.
Ensure the social emotional and academic (language arts mathematics and social studies) growth of a class of children
Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree required.
A minimum of two years experience teaching at the Middle School level.
Ability to communicate motivate and understand the students educational and emotional needs.
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers support staff parents and members of the community.
Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize different teaching methods that will result in higher student achievement.
