Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect to design build and lead enterprise-scale data architecture and business intelligence solutions. This role is responsible for defining how data is structured integrated governed and consumed across the organization to enable advanced analytics reporting and data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data warehousing dimensional modeling Azure data platforms and Power BI along with strong leadership skills to drive standards governance and best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Engineering

  • Design and implement scalable enterprise-wide data architectures to support analytics and reporting.
  • Lead the transformation of transactional (normalized) data into dimensional models (facts and dimensions) using Kimball methodology.
  • Architect manage and evolve the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) including data lineage and parent-child relationships.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse pipelines.
  • Move and optimize data flows from Azure Data Lake to Synapse Analytics.
  • Design and implement Tabular models in Power BI Premium datasets and SSAS.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS.
  • Write and optimize T-SQL and DAX for high-performance data models and reporting.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Lead the design and development of Power BI dashboards and reports that support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Integrate external and third-party data sources into the EDW.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models and BI solutions.
  • Ensure analytics solutions align with business goals and deliver measurable value.

Data Governance & Standards

  • Define and implement data governance frameworks metadata management practices and architectural standards.
  • Establish and enforce data quality rules validation processes and design standards.
  • Design and implement secure data access models supporting internal and external users.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Review evolving business requirements and recommend architectural improvements or system upgrades.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead the full data system development lifecycle from requirements through production support.
  • Collaborate across engineering analytics and business teams.
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers and analysts on best practices in data architecture modeling and governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
  • 12 years of overall experience in data architecture data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • 8 years of hands-on experience building relational and dimensional data models using Kimball methodology.
  • 5 years of experience developing Power BI reports and datasets.
  • 5 years of experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouses and ETL processes.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure Synapse pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL SSIS and DAX.
  • Proven experience designing Tabular models in Power BI Premium.
  • Solid understanding of Azure Data Lake and Azure data platform services.
  • Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong ability to gather requirements estimate effort and deliver solutions independently.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
  • Familiarity with data catalog and metadata tools (Azure Purview Collibra).
  • Exposure to Databricks.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.
