Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mixed or Small Animal Veterinarian (DVM) to join our growing team in Wakefield RI. We are looking for a passionate veterinarian who enjoys working with both small and/or mixed animal patients providing high-quality care in a collaborative and community-focused environment. Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide comprehensive veterinary care to both small and mixed animal patients including diagnostics treatment and preventive care (wellness exams vaccinations parasite control).
Surgical Expertise: Perform routine surgeries (spays neuters dental cleanings etc.) as well as more advanced procedures ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
Diagnostic Services: Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital radiography ultrasound and laboratory testing to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of conditions.
Client Communication: Educate pet owners on their pets health treatment plans and preventive care strategies. Build lasting relationships with clients through compassionate and clear communication.
Emergency and Critical Care: Provide emergency care as needed including making quick and informed decisions in urgent situations to ensure the health of the patients.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary technicians support staff and other veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care and a seamless client experience.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients in accordance with clinic protocols and regulatory requirements.
Professional Development: Stay current with veterinary best practices and advancements in the field through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in Rhode Island (or the ability to obtain one).
Experience working with both small and mixed animal species is preferred.
Expertise in small animal medicine and surgery with a willingness to expand knowledge in large animal care if needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
