About the job:
We are looking for a Financial Analyst whose primary focus is Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). In this role you will provide the high-level insights that drive our strategic decision-making and long-term trajectory and will own the budget and projection lifecycle turning raw data into a narrative that helps our leadership team navigate the complexities of our organization with confidence.
How Youll Make an Impact
- Take the lead on MSFs annual budget process ensuring it serves as a precise and timely reflection of our operational goals.
- Utilize your professional expertise to create dynamic financial projections giving management the foresight needed for effective resource allocation.
- Identify trends and developments in our financial condition preparing reports for the Board of Directors that highlight our path forward.
- Administer our technical FP&A solutions with a focus on continuous improvement ensuring our processes are as efficient as they are accurate.

- Proven experience monitoring spending against budgets and translating those findings into actionable financial advice.

Required Experience
What you will need (minimum qualifications):
- Bachelors degree in business administration finance accounting or a related field.
- Three (3) years professional work experience in the financial planning & analysis domain.
- Ability to effectively use technology and digital tools to perform work tasks solve problems and communicate i.e. digital competency.
Preferred:
- Experience within the insurance industry.
- Experience with accounting processes and principles.
- Experience with the State of Montanas biennial budget process.
- Experience with project management.
Job location:
This position requires primarily on-site presence in the Helena MT office but is open to supporting a hybrid work arrangement.
Working conditions:
Fast paced general office environment. Some stress may occur. Frequent travel expected for servicing policies and other business traveling with team members and for organization specific events. Requires sitting for extended periods of time standing visual acumen manual dexterity detailed verbal communications and fine finger manipulation for working with computer keyboards.
Compensation and Benefits: Starting salary for this Exempt position begins at $79500-$99300per year.
